(Annotated bibliography – one page)
Prior to writing your issue paper, submit an annotated bibliography with the sources you would like to use in your paper. Properly cite each source and briefly (in about 3 sentences or so) detail how this source will be useful in writing your paper. The intent of this assignment is to ensure that you are using proper sources for your paper – bad sources make for a bad paper!
Instructions:
You must include a minimum of 6 sources; at least 3 of these must be academic sources. Unacceptable sources include (but are not limited to) Wikipedia and procon.org. All sources must be properly cited using Chicago/Turabian (Links to an external site.) parenthetical notion (author-date) style.

(Issue paper – 6 pages)
Choose a current political controversy. An appropriate topic is one which is currently or has recently been on the political agenda. The topic should be something that government could possibly adopt a policy about.
Briefly detail the history and current action on the issue and then explore the arguments of both (or all) sides of the issue. When reading the paper, I shouldn’t be able to figure out which side you agree with.
This means you will have to do research. This research should provide you with facts that will support the opinions of each side.
